NAD+ 500MG

$42.00

NAD+ (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide) is a coenzyme present in all living cells and a central redox carrier in cellular metabolism. It cycles between its oxidized (NAD+) and reduced (NADH) forms, transferring electrons in glycolysis, the citric acid cycle, and oxidative phosphorylation.

NAD+ is also a required substrate for sirtuin and PARP enzymes, which consume it during deacetylation and ADP-ribosylation reactions. Intracellular concentrations are reported to decline with age in published cell and animal models.

Researchers study NAD+ in:

  • Redox and electron transport assays
  • Sirtuin and PARP enzyme activity studies
  • Mitochondrial metabolism research
  • DNA repair pathway models
  • NAD+ salvage pathway research

MECHANISM

MECHANISM

How Does It Work?

NAD+ participates in over 400 cellular reactions and is essential for multiple biological systems.

Cellular Energy Production DNA Repair
NAD+ helps convert nutrients into ATP the primary energy source used by cells. It is critical for mitochondrial function and energy metabolism. NAD+-dependent enzymes called PARPs help repair damaged DNA caused by aging, toxins, and environmental stress.

Sirtuin Activation — The Longevity Switch Immune & Inflammatory Regulation
Sirtuins are proteins linked to longevity and healthy aging. They require NAD+ to function and are associated with cellular protection and lifespan regulation. NAD+ helps regulate immune response and inflammation, both of which are strongly linked to aging and cellular stress.

Researchers are especially interested in NAD+ because restoring levels in aged models has shown improvements across energy production, cognition, metabolism, and cellular repair simultaneously.

POTENTIAL SIDE EFFECTS IN RESEARCH

POTENTIAL SIDE EFFECTS IN RESEARCH

NAD+ has a strong safety profile across research studies and is generally considered well-tolerated. Observed side effects are usually mild and dose-dependent.

Skin Flushing Mild Headache
Temporary redness or flushing has been observed at higher doses. Usually short-lived and not considered serious. Rare reports of mild headaches in some research subjects. Typically resolves without intervention.

Skin Itching Digestive Discomfort
Mild itching observed in a small number of subjects. Generally temporary and not dose-limiting. Occasional mild gastrointestinal discomfort reported, especially at higher concentrations.

Liver Enzyme Changes Nausea
Some studies noted liver enzyme marker changes at very high doses. Researchers should monitor hepatic markers during long-term protocols. Mild nausea has occasionally been observed and generally resolves as protocols continue.

NAD+ is considered one of the best-tolerated compounds in longevity research, with no serious adverse effects documented at standard research concentrations.
